No points for blank lines. When the time is up, each player shares what word they chose for each letter. So in 10 minutes you have to write down as many summer words you can think of A-Z. For pairs and older children, 3-5 minutes is fun…then they have to think fast! Or work in pairs! Pairs are super fun in this game. Don't forget to match the answer sheet with the Scattergories list that you have customizable. The cards for the older game were 5 1/16 by 7 1/16 with rounded corners. I would recommend printing on 8.5 x 11 white card stock. If you want to make it so six people can play, you will want to print six copies of all the cards.

You can immediately upgrade your scattergories list by downloading and then printing it on the standard printer you have. Scattergories comes with six copies of each list so that six people or teams can play the game.
The internet provides printable scattergories custom lists. Set the Timer…choose a time (we say 10-15 minutes because our kids are small) But for older children you could set it for less time. You can create up to 16 Scattergories lists with references provided by the internet.
I will be sharing our other theme scattergories throughout the year. Perfect time to share my summertime version. We are playing this tonight for family night. My kids love playing Scattergories…but this little twist is a fun version, especially for smaller children and larger groups. Scattergories works by dividing participants into two different teams and then pitching random categories to which the participants have filled up with 6.
