Just had 5 of these Goodyear Wrangler Trailrunner AT installed last week-on my 02 Tacoma XtraCab 4WD TRD, 265/70/16. It's great to hear comments about our Tacos. I know, maybe picky things but I was used to having in my other vehicles. Automatic headlights at dusk, doors that lock after entry, brighter interior dome lights.
My only complaint is maybe a few more bells and whistles for what we pay for these trucks. On a side note I've always wanted a Tacoma finally got my 2012 off road about a year ago and love it. I'm going to post my comments again on the tire once the snow starts flying. I have not been in rain yet and no snow yet. Grip excellent (but they should their new lol). After this first week my first impressions are. I wanted a some what aggressive looking tire, very happy how they look on my truck once installed. I know the Goodyear Trailrunners are fairly new and hard to find any comment on them but I like the tread design and the look of the tire. I almost got the Cooper AT but didn't like the look. I almost got the BFG ko2 but decided they were to heavy. I did a lot of research on many sites and went back and forth on a couple brands. I wasn't going through another winter with them. My factory BFG were the worst tire I ever had on a vehicle for snow. I know I needed new tires before the snow comes here in northern MN. The height of the tire when fully inflated.I just put on a set of Goodyear trailrunners. The measurement from one side of the tread to the other side of the tread. The measurement from sidewall to sidewall. The recommended wheel width as recommended by the tire manufacturer to get the best wear us performance for this tire. The approved wheel rim width range this tire will support. Once mounted they must remain on the same side of the vehicle, and only be rotated front to rear. Directional tires - roll in only one direction, must be mounted properly. Can be rotated to all four corners of the vehicle. Asymmetrical - tread pattern is different on the inside to the outside of the tire, and must be mounted properly. Can be rotated to all four corners of vehicle. Nondirectional - most common, same tread pattern on inside & outside of the tire. Most tires will have tire indicators in the grooves of the tire to help you determine when the tires are worn down to 2/32nds. Once the tire is worn to 2/32nds, it is considered fully used and should be replaced at that time.
